Our first piece offers a glimpse into the saga of La Clef, an art-house theater that has served as a cultural bedrock for its Parisian community since its founding in the 1970s. In 2019, the imminent closure of the cinema and sale of the building triggered a two-and-half-year-long occupation by a collective of activists and film workers, who recently succeeded in raising funds to buy the building and establish it as a community-run space.
