This year's festival examined the global rise of authoritarianism, the erosion of democratic institutions and mounting pressure on civil society. Through films and Forums, the programme addressed conflicts in Gaza, Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as well as political repression, attacks on minority rights and forms of collective resistance.
